Michelle Bone was our Employee of the Month in November 2021 after being nominated by numerous members of the team for her “going above and beyond attitude” and excellent customer service.
Fresh Start
Michelle joined Magnus Group Ltd back in 2015. After taking a career break for her daughter, she started work with a local logistics company. “I decided that I wanted to be at home with my daughter until she started school so had taken a few years off work. I’d worked with an electrical contractors company for 17 years and wanted a change,” explains Michelle. “I got a part-time job in a logistics company and loved it but unfortunately was made redundant after a few years.”
A Family Business
As luck would have it, at the time Magnus was looking for part-time admin help in our warehouse team. We are proud of being a family company, but family in Magnus means so much more than the Magnus name – many of our team have introduced their family members to come and join the fun!

“When Auntie Patsi told me about the vacancy at Magnus, I jumped at it. My first role was processing proof of deliveries and scanning delivery notes into the system” says Michelle.
Evolving Roles
Michelle is a real success story at Magnus. She has had three roles in the past seven years learning different aspects of the business and gaining more responsibility.
After a few years, Michelle moved to the warehouse team. In 2020 was promoted to Central Administrator. “My role links the finance and warehouse team as I oversee the invoices from our warehouses at Great Blakenham and Felixstowe,” explains Michelle. Michelle loves the team she works with and speaks with passion about her work, and role at Magnus.
Fun Facts
First single – whilst Michelle can’t quite recall the single, she is very confident it would have been the Pet Shop Boys.
First job – when Michelle was 13, she could be found fruit picking during the summer at a local farm. When not helping to harvest berries, Michelle was delivering the local Mercury. She remembers it being a route of 160 houses she would do on her bike each week. She is now encouraging her 12-year-old to start thinking about her first job!
When she wins the lottery – Michelle would take her daughter and husband travelling. She would love to travel for a year to give her daughter a fantastic life experience and spend more time with her family.
