Magnus Group is proud to sponsor the iconic Ipswich Town FC main stand, but it’s important that our staff feel they are part of the partnership.
That’s why we were delighted to surprise three of our longest-serving employees with a slap-up meal, drinks and the best corporate hospitality at last weekend’s home game against Sheffield Wednesday.
Joining our head of personnel and development, Emma Lightfoot, were lorry drivers Martin Salisbury and John Vincent, plus accounts assistant Patsi Brown. All three of our special guests joined Magnus Group between 1985 and 1988 and have a combined 103 years of experience! What an advert for retaining our best people.
John and Martin had applied internally to use the company’s two season tickets for the big game, which over 20,000 people attended, but CEO Olly Magnus decided to surprise them by upgrading their visit to a complete hospitality experience. Patsi was asked along, too, in recognition of her long service.
“We were thrilled to be invited,” said Patsi. “The food was delicious, and it was such a treat to enjoy the game in this way. We are all very thankful to Olly!”
Magnus Group West Stand
Emma hosted the lucky trio in the Sir Bobby Robson Suite, which gave the guests a perfect view of the game – and the Magnus Group West Stand.
Emma said: “The football tickets are something we can offer our staff as a treat. It’s important to Olly and I that all the staff feel included and part of our team. Now that Magnus Group sponsors the ITFC main stand, we want them to be a part of that relationship, too.”
With the national shortage of lorry drivers, many of whom face difficult working conditions, Magnus Group is keen to be a compassionate and inclusive employer. Do visit our Work with Us page to see our latest vacancies, whether it be for our lorry fleet, warehousing, freight forwarding or office roles.
