Magnus Group and Amazon address student careers day

18th October, 2022

Magnus Group is working hard to inspire tomorrow’s generation of logistics employees, highlighting the benefits of a fast-paced and exciting sector.

Last week we joined Amazon and other businesses to address students at West Suffolk College as part of their business, logistics and tourism day.

MD Mark Oakley made a keynote speech, as did Amazon’s Head of Global Logistics and Supply, John McFall.

And Head of Personnel and Development Emma Lightfoot was on hand to tell students more about life in logistics, HR, business and admin.

The students showed a keen interest during the day. They were tasked with networking with local employers to find out more about work experience and employment opportunities or to seek answers to questions about logistics.

Emma said: “It was an excellent day well organised by West Suffolk College. The students showed a genuine interest throughout, and Mark and I were impressed with their attitude.

“Magnus Group is keen to do more to show local students how satisfying a career in logistics can be.

“With the Port of Felixstowe on our doorstep and substantial warehousing and distribution hubs locally like ours, there are many opportunities for those leaving school or further education.”
