For the past couple of months, we have been running a Meet Our People series.
Family Business
We are a family business but family means more than the Magnus name. It means every member of our team. The people who support and create the fantastic culture and work ethics at Magnus Group Ltd. It’s the people who make Magnus what it is. We are very proud of our team.
To date, we have introduced you to Steph, Patsi, Heather, Morgan, Sophie, Rick and Emma. They have given you an insight into our finance department, our freight forwarding team, being a driver with Magnus, our warehousing team and Human Resources. Their experience with Magnus ranges from 12 months to 35 years, and their age from 18 to, er, well, a bit older.
Growth
Our team has grown by 50% over the past two years. We have recruited the best of the best to come and join our team on our journey. Some have joined us from other areas in the industry, with experience and knowledge. Others have jumped aboard new to the sector, keen to learn and develop skills. We are proud of every single person in #TeamMagnus.
Whatever their experience or background, (or surname!), the one thing everyone has in common is that they believe in Magnus Group, and work hard for success.
Employee Welfare
We want to change the reputation of the logistics, haulage and shipping industry. Warehousing, road haulage, and global forwarding can take a bit of a knock when looking at sectors that have good staff welfare. Known historically as male-dominated industries with poor conditions and pay, we want to help change that. We hope that our series of interviews with our team not only demonstrate that it is a great industry to work in, but show the diversity of skills and jobs available.
We genuinely care about our team’s welfare and well-being. We have invested in a Health and Well-being service, not only for our team but for their immediate family too. We have improved the office environment. We have introduced an outdoor rest area. A staff newsletter goes out to share what is happening with every single member of the team. Staff groups have been set up to discuss important work issues such as Health and Safety. We will continue to up our game on our employee policies and procedures, and look for new ways to show our appreciation.
Success of the team
We hope that our team know how much we value and appreciate them. The past two years have been challenging with new ownership, a new senior team and a global pandemic. We would not have had our successes without everyone’s dedication and hard work. We hope that everyone would say that they have fun working at Magnus Group too!
If you follow Olly Magnus on LinkedIn, you will know that his consistent message is that success comes from teamwork, trusting in others, and believing in yourself. These messages form the core of Magnus Group’s culture.
Our Meet Our People series is continuing in September. It is one of our ways of acknowledging the part that everyone plays in the success of the company. We hope our clients enjoy reading more about the “voice at the end of the telephone”. If there is anyone you would like to be interviewed within the team, just let us know.
In August we have some special guests being interviewed as part of this series – don’t miss it!
