A twist on tradition – Honouring Paul Magnus

24th January, 2022

In early January we took delivery of the first three of ten new trucks.

The fourth, a very special one, arrived last week.

Traditions

Paul Magnus founded Magnus Group back in the 1970s. The trucks and branding have been a few rebirths over that time.  Whether blue, white, or green, the M and Magnus name has remained the same along with the female name on the front.

Paul started the tradition of naming the trucks after the women in the Magnus family. As the truck haulage business grew, the names became those associated with the family or the business. It’s a tradition that Olly has maintained since joining Magnus Group in 2019: you can read more here: https://magnusgroup.co.uk/introducing-jacqueline-and-emma/

The new trucks arriving in 2022 are honouring this tradition being named after daughters and wives of long-standing members of staff and the Directors at Magnus Group.

All except one.

A twist on traditions

One got a retro livery in the full “Magnus Green”. And for the first time in Magnus Group history, the name is a man’s name: Paul Magnus.

“Hopefully it is a fitting tribute to the man who made this all happen but more importantly, with my Mum, made me the person I am”, says Olly Magnus.

We are sure you will agree it looks stunning – especially on a glorious sunny day next to the River Orwell, with the Orwell Bridge in the background just outside Ipswich and Felixstowe.
